I am running to represent Simi Valley on the Calleguas Board. My wife and I have made Simi our home for 32 years. With my recent retirement and our twins out in the world, I have time to fully involve myself in the critical mission of safe and reliable water for our city as well as the other areas served. I served as a career Naval officer, including duty managing the water utility at Point Mugu and two offshore islands. This work included operating the first salt-water reverse osmosis water plant in southern California, which I understand is still out there. I was also responsible for engineering projects at Conejo Valley USD and the cities of Burbank and Moorpark. Long term, I will do whatever I can to improve our source of water from the State Water Project, which is potentially subject to earthquake damage in the Bay Delta. My background in the law will be brought to bear on the complex legal issues that Calleguas faces.
