FAIRY TALES IN THE PARK
FAIRY TALES IN THE PARK IS BACK FOR A SHORTENED 2021 SEASON!

Fairy Tales in the Park is a series of free, live theatrical performances geared towards children ages 3 to 10. John and Roxanne Diesel co-founded Gypsies in a Trunk, an all-volunteer troupe of actors performing free fairy tales for the young and young at heart. The troupe’s love of children’s theatre has led them to perform every May through September since 1995 throughout Ventura County.

The troupe’s goal is to create an environment where families can introduce live theatre to their children in a casual setting at the right price – free! All Fairy Tales in the Park performances are held outdoors in a variety of venues and are always free of charge. Though the players pass the hat to help cover costuming and travel costs, donations are always voluntary.

Most venues do not have shade, so sunscreen and hats are appropriate. Bring water, juice, snacks, picnics. Blankets and low-slung chairs are recommended. Please leave doggies at home (not that they don’t love them). The shows are designed to run approximately 45 minutes, which coincides with the attention span of the target age group, 3 to 10-year-olds.

THE CAMARILLO FARMERS MARKET

At the Camarillo Farmers Market, you are supporting local farmers and artisans and helping local residents.
The Camarillo Farmers Market is entirely managed and run by volunteers! Everything — including coordinating the vendors you see each week, setting up, and managing the market office — is done by volunteers.
Each time you make a purchase at the market, a percentage of that gross sale is donated by the vendors. Those donations benefit free grief and bereavement services at our Camarillo Grief and Bereavement Center. Last year, nearly 400 grieving family members — including 173 students — received free individual and family grief and bereavement counseling support to help them heal from the loss of a loved one.

Sit back and relax to the sounds of summer!

Come join us at Conejo Recreation & Park District for this summer’s family-friendly event featuring highly acclaimed national touring bands.
Sunday, August 15
TURN THE PAGE – A TRIBUTE TO BOB SEGER & THE SILVER BULLET BAND

Bob Seger. The name alone brings back a flood of memories. Memories of growing up and a time when music helped define who you were. Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band truly provided the soundtrack to a generation, especially those growing up in the Midwest. TURN THE PAGE – A Celebration of Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band faithfully recreates all the classic Bob Seger material, including “Old Time Rock and Roll,” “Night Moves,” “Against The Wind,” and, of course, “Turn the Page.” If there ever was a pure Rock and Roll fact, it’s that Bob Seger’s music is at its BEST when performed LIVE!

Labor Day, Monday, September 8
JACK OF HEARTS BAND – TRIBUTE TO BOB DYLAN AND THE BAND

The final concert of the summer brings the JACK OF HEARTS BAND – Tribute to Bob Dylan & the Band to the Conejo Valley. Bob Dylan has remained one of the most important figures in modern American music for over five decades. Since 2010, the Jack of Hearts Band has authentically replicated the sound of Dylan – from the early ‘60s folk scene to his radical electric conversion culminating in “Blonde on Blonde,” the Woodstock years, and through the ‘70s to masterpieces such as “Blood on the Tracks,” the “Rolling Thunder Revue” and beyond. Dylan’s legendary collaborators – The Band – who famously backed him on his ‘66 and ‘74 tours, as well as on “The Basement Tapes,” are also heavily featured.
DATES: Multiple Dates now through Labor Day
TIME: Concerts begin at approximately 5 p.m.
COST: Tickets are $20 for a physically distanced, assigned space that allows up to four guests. Concert tickets will be available about four weeks prior to each event. LOCATION: Conejo Community Park, 1175 Hendrix Avenue, Thousand Oaks, CA.
