FDA Halts J&J Vaccine

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) have put a “pause” on the use of the Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 vaccine as of April 13, 2021.  This is after six women ages 18-48 developed a rare but serious blood clot called cerebral venous sinus thrombosis.  One woman thus far has died from this condition.  The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices from the CDC will be reviewing these cases.  The FDA and CDC will be discussing if and when to resume the vaccine in the upcoming weeks.
