THOUSAND OAKS, CA – Fellowship is fundamental for most religions. However, gathering together for worship services may no longer be possible with COVID-19 social isolation protocols in effect. Fortunately, many of our local churches broadcast their services on the internet so that people can participate from home during this health situation.
Ken LaMont, pastor of Newbury Park First Christian Church, commented, “Over the past few months, not knowing where we would be today with the coronavirus pandemic, we started live streaming our services which prepared us for what we are facing today. We believe that live streaming is a great tool. One that should not replace the regular gathering together of the body of Christ, however for people who are shut-in, out of town, or in the situation we find ourselves in today, the live stream can help us be together even when we can’t be in the same room.”
With religious holidays such Easter, Passover and Ramadan coming up quickly, the issue of how to meet – electronically or physically – has become mission critical for every religious community.
